WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THAI MASSAGE AND REGULAR MASSAGES?
A Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor, no oil is used and the client is fully clothed. We use our body weight and strength to massage with our hands, palms, elbows, and feet. We press very specific pressure points to increase serotonin levels which leaves our clients feeling wonderful. Some yoga stretches are done and many of our clients feel its better than a regular massage because we do the whole body and the stretches are muchly needed for everyone.
MY BACK IS MY PRIMARY CONCERN, WHY CAN'T YOU DO JUST MY BACK?
A Thai massage is done very specifically and to be authentic to the Thai culture and its people we must preform our massages the way we were trained. The back is connected to the buttocks which is connected to the legs. We start at the feet, do the whole legs, arms, hands, back, neck, shoulders, and finish off with a very relaxing face and scalp massage. We take great pride in being thorough so our clients feel satisfied and relaxed afterwards.
WHAT OTHER BENEFITS DOES IT HAVE?
We use a lot of pressure points to increase the digestive tract flow and blood circulation. Once the legs are massaged this way we can hear 'girgling' which is bile from the gall bladder getting flushed out and replenished. The small and large intestines also enjoy an easier flow after our massage. We have a move that distinctly flushes the blood stream on the lower half of the body and our clients feel this release of energy. Its truly amazing.
ARE YOU COVERED BY MY EXTENDED HEALTH CARE PLAN?
We are not Registered Massage Therapists but are Certified Thai Massage Therapists. We issue a written receipt with our certification numbers and stamp and so far, no issues. Most companies are opening up to complementary medicine practices as these days, wellness involves many types of alternative medicine.
IS IT PAINFUL?
It's no different than any other massage. Everyone is different and we do get a lot of feedback from our clients. Some people haven't had a massage in a while and its kind of like working out at the gym - there may be soreness the next day and then feeling fantastic after that. Some people enjoy the hard deep tissue pressure but need to drink a lot of water to flush the toxins out. Many athletic people find some sensitivity to certain body parts such as the hamstrings but like in a traditional massage certain muscles are tighter. We actually use our feet to massage the hamstrings which our clients enjoy much better than traditionally using just the thumbs. Its definately a 'WOW' moment that needs to be experienced.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GO?
Thai massage is very therapeutic and most clients with extra tightness and stress may come every 7 days until their tension is under control. After that, we recommend every 3-4 weeks.
AND OUR MOST POPULAR QUESTION:
DO YOU DO HAPPY ENDINGS?
No!! But our clients always leave happy.
